Henna tattoos are given all over the world for many different reasons. In the United States, henna tattoos are given to be made to look like real tattoos. However, henna is actually safer than actual tattoos because it's not permanent, does not stain the skin, but offers an enjoyment for those who get them. However, some people dislike henna tattoos simply because they don't look enough like real tattoos. So they decide to search out for more of a black henna product. Some people actually sell and market black henna as a real product, though it is truly not a real henna derivative. So what is the type of black henna that many people get tricked into buying? This black henna is actually a chemical that is used in cheap-quality hair dye. That chemical that’s responsible for the black henna is called PPD for short, or PhenylenDiamine is the longer chemical name. But black henna buyers should be prepared to face the consequences if they want this black henna.

Additionally, there have been several cases that have occurred where children have mistakenly designed black henna on themselves in an attempt to have a more real-looking tattoo. However, those are the same children and individuals who have seriously and majorly contracted a skin rash from their allergic reactions to the PPD, commonly called black henna. Furthermore, black henna is also dangerous because permanent scarring can occur in those who actually use the black henna, or PPD. Henna enthusiasts already know that there is no such thing as a real black henna color, but the innocent individuals who have never gotten henna before may just be tricked into buying some form of black henna.

There are several colors that one can actually purchase besides black henna, though. If color is what those who are attracted to the certain false black henna color then there are certain other dyes that can actually be added to the henna paste to make more of a color than the natural one that is already present. For example, a red and orange color is two examples of the popular types of color that result from henna colorations. Other colors may include blue variations as well as some green colors. However, black henna is not an authentic color that henna artists consider when they are choosing henna color variations. The main reason for this is perhaps because many people know black henna to be false, so to avoid deception the black henna idea is put aside altogether.

As you can easily see then, obtaining black henna is just as dangerous as actually placing it on your skin. Because black henna, or PPD, is not made to be in contact with the skin for long periods of time it ends up eating away and scarring the skin badly. Black henna is definitely not a real form of the henna art and should be avoided at all costs. There are many other ways in which to make henna art look beautiful and real, but black henna certainly is not one of them!

WARNING!!! Black Henna contains parafenylendiamin (PPD) and cam be dangerous to use. Many people get severe alergic reactions from PPD and can never again dye their hair or use dark textiles. Many peoples life is ruined because of parafenylendiamin (PPD). It is STRONGLY adviced not to use black henna under any sicumstances.

PPD penetrates through the dead layer of skin into the living layer which contains blood capillaries. It damages these cells and also enters the bloodstream and can harm the organs that have to process this chemical such as the liver and kidneys. After a usual time of two weeks when the living layer of skin that has been affected by PPD has risen to the surface, the direct damage of PPD can be seen by a raised rash, blisters, and intense itching.

PPD and henna are unfortunately interrelated both in this country and others. PPD is used to achieve a quick dark black stain, whereas the henna without PPD usually takes a longer time to stain the skin and DOES NOT stain black.

Henna in its pure form is greenish in color and when applied to the skin it leaves a stain; sometimes light brown sometimes reddish brown. In an effort to make realistic looking, modern day, temporary tattoo, the manufactures of heena powder and paste add black colors, thus creating black henna. Black henna is henna with a black dye added and is widely used for tattoo and hair coloring.

Black heena is advertised as a fun, temporary decoration that, because of its dark stain, looks like a real tattoo. It is supposed to last for one to three weeks and are widely used by people who are a regular visitors to swanky fairs, festivals, beaches, concerts and clubs. Apart from tattoo, black henna that are free from chemical ingredients, gives natural shining to the hairs. It dispels heat, cures neurosis and has a soothing effect, giving coppery, carrot-red shade to the hair.

Black henna made of p-phenylenediamine (PPD), may cause serious skin inflammation. Thus, before having a black henna tattoo, its content must be thoroughly checked. Some black henna uses food coloring that does not pose a risk to skin.
