Henna Body Art

The henna body art that can be seen on many men and women throughout the world is becoming more popular by the day. In the United States, henna body art popularity has increased throughout the past decade, but in other parts of the world henna has long been popular and very important. One of the reasons that henna body art is important in the United States, though, is because the henna body art resembles life-like tattoos that one can get at a tattoo parlor. However one advantage to getting henna art painted on your body is that it is a less-permanent tattoo than regular black-ink tattoos. Henna body art usually lasts two to three weeks on your body. However, the length of time the body art stays is all dependent upon several factors. How much you wash your skin, your skin tone, as well as the amount of sunlight you receive each day will all affect how long the henna body art stays painted on your body.

As mentioned, henna body art is very important in other parts of the world. For example, in India henna body art is sometimes used at bridal showers. Brides use henna as a way to express their love for the person they are entering into marriage with. Aside from that, however, the meaning of the henna body paintings can take on a deeper meaning than a simple painting. However, henna is used as a hobby and is worn on many different special occasions in other countries such as India or even Africa. In fact, many of the henna body art paintings that are used are used in religious ceremonies or even funeral ceremonies.

Perhaps the tradition of henna body art in Middle Eastern societies is more important than in the United States and the other parts of the Western world is because the henna body art is credited with originating in India and the countries surrounding it. Since the henna body art has had more of a chance to adapt to the culture there this is one of the main reasons why it has taken on so many different meaningful interpretations.

There are many styles of henna body art also, though. Traditionally, Middle Eastern cultures use the henna body art and paintings mostly on their hands and feet. They don't traditionally place a henna painting just in one part of their body, but long and flowing henna designs are used throughout most of their henna body art. In the United States, however, the henna body art takes on a whole different form and meaning. Instead of being long and flowing, henna body art is traditionally used as a less-permanent type of tattoo. This means that there are more simple designs, like a name or even an animal, that are used in the henna body art within the United States.

But whatever the meaning or tradition of using henna body paintings, though, one thing is for sure. Many countries use henna body art for all sorts of reasons. Henna has long been a popular and beautiful form of adornment for women in other countries, and both women and men in the United States, and will continue to grow in popularity as time passes on!

Henna Body Art

Have you ever admired the beautiful, intricate and temporary henna designs that are the latest trend across the U.S.? Henna body art has been used since ancient times in many cultures.

Art body painting used to be a rare thing to behold and usually as performance art in galleries or a specific exhibit at an art fair. But henna body painting has changed all that. Henna painting, which is also traditionally done on canvas, wood, paper, and animal hides, is the new standard. Henna body painting is now synonymous with art body painting in all its forms. The custom of creating striking tattoos and colorful henna body art is 5,000 years old; but what's new about this tattoo body art form to us in the West is the fact that it is a 'temporary form' of body art. Henna body art is beautiful and graceful and provides a person looking for tattoo body art with a temporary body art alternative that has a history, ritual context, and positive associations.

Henna design on your body can last from one to three weeks on the skin, depending on your body temperature, skin type, lifestyle, and the surrounding weather conditions. The paste lasts four weeks in the bottle once mixed, if it is kept in the refrigerator. The henna powder stays fresh up to two years if it is kept away from light and moisture.
