Henna Stencil

Learning to perform the art of designing henna tattoos can often prove to be a difficult task. Even though there are many professional henna artists in the business, chances are that it took them a very long time to learn the correct way to place and paint a henna tattoo. But, if you are a beginner or amateur in the henna design industry, chances are that you'll be looking toward books and other people for help. But one tool that you may not have though of is the henna stencil. Henna stencils can be of a big help to many people because not only do they not require any effort at all, but one can practice with a henna stencil to be able to learn the correct way to paint a henna stencil. As the saying goes, practice makes perfect, and using a henna stencil is one of the best ways to get a lot of that learned practice.

Henna stencils can actually be purchased just about anywhere and from many different places. The only difference, however, between an actual henna stencil and another stencil is seen in the design. Henna stencils are actually created from real henna designs, whereas you can also get many more types of stencils that you can also use with henna art, but will not be an actual henna design. However, henna paint can be used with regular stencils if it is so desired.

As far as the types of henna stencils go, there are many that one can use in order to practice the art of painting henna on themselves or other people. For example, there are many different types of round henna stencils that give the appearance of an authentic henna design. These round henna stencils can come in many shapes and sizes and some of them even denote specific symbols. Some of these round henna stencils include a daisy or other flower design, as well as other flower designs. However, henna stencils can also be purchased with authentic Arabic or Indian henna designs that have been taken from many of the originating cultures of the henna artwork.

Another popular type of henna stencil is the band stencil. Just as there are many actual henna designs that go around the arm or around the hand or foot, henna stencils can actually be purchased in the shape of a henna band design. There are many places that sell henna stencils and there are many patterns that the band stencils have. For example, some can have butterfly or rose patterns, while other band henna stencils could take the form of other culturally important symbols. Celtic, Indian, Moroccan, and even Tribal henna stencils can be purchased in the form of band stencils that are placed around the ankle, foot, arm, or leg. Altogether, though, many of the henna stencils that are bought are perfect for beginners because they allow them to practice the art of painting henna, as well as providing actual henna designs within the henna stencils themselves!

---------------------------------------------------

Henna stencil is a sheet, as of plastic or cardboard, in which a desired lettering or design has been cut so that henna paste can be applied to reproduce the pattern on the surface beneath. The pattern is cut out of the plate, which is then laid flat on the surface to be designed and the henna paste is brushed over it. Henna tattoo stencils are generally rubber or plastic made, washable and reusable for application with henna paste.

There are some great henna tattoo stencils that are ideal as a central focus to a design that can be then elaborate on. Some of the large ones serve this purpose well for upper back, lower back and chest designs. A large selection of round, celestial, celtic, band and traditional stencils are available. There are very nice smaller tattoo stencils that can be used for the central focus of a hand design, bracelet, cuff anklet and arm band.

The stencils are very easy to use. Clean the skin area where they will be applied. Then apply the stencil, making sure that it adheres to the skin tightly. Any pockets that are not sticking to the skin are going to mess up the design. Then apply the henna paste to the open areas where the skin is exposed within the boundaries of the stencil. Once the paste is dry, remove the stencil.

Henna stencils are ideal for those who have minimal drawing skills. Choose from a wide range of stencils available for henna patterns. Place the henna stencil over the body part and apply henna or body paint over it and Voila - you have a henna design in place! Henna stencils can be used for creating a central focus theme for your mehendi design. You can elaborate on them too. Large henna stencils work well for the upper back, lower back and chest. Smaller finer stencils can be used for cuffs, anklets and armbands. Choose from plastic reusable stencils or those with adhesive backs.
